Welcome to Distinct Bathrooms. I’m Martin, the proud owner, and I’ve spent more than 20 years working exclusively in the bathroom design and installation industry.
Over those two decades, we’ve grown into a well-established, independent bathroom designer, supplier and installer with two showrooms – one in Ripley and one in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
We’re passionate about providing expert advice, the best value for money, and access to leading bathroom brands. Every project we take on includes a full, in-house installation service and excellent aftercare.

How It Started
Distinct Bathrooms began in 2015 in a small showroom in Ripley, Derbyshire. At first, it was just me and one in-house installer, fitting one bathroom a week. In the face of rapidly growing demand, in 2016, we welcomed our first shop assistant to help manage the increasing number of customers.
In 2018, my wife Sophie joined the business full-time. We took the opportunity to open a second showroom in Ashbourne, where we now live. With two new installers onboard, we were soon completing around six bathrooms each month – and building a name for quality and service across Belper, Heanor, Ambergate and beyond.
A Showroom Designed to Inspire
In 2022, we moved our Ripley showroom to a much larger site on the historic grounds of Butterley Engineering. The new space gave us the chance to showcase full bathroom displays in realistic room settings, helping customers visualise their perfect space. We also expanded our installation team to five, giving us the flexibility to match each job with the right specialist.
Our focused approach means we’re able to fully realise our bathroom delivery to a standard we’re genuinely proud of, with attention to detail at every stage.
Growth with Purpose
By 2025, we had outgrown our original Ashbourne location, so we opened a brand-new, more spacious showroom on Buxton Road, just outside the centre of town. With dedicated parking and the latest design displays, it offers a relaxed and inspiring setting for customers across Wirksworth, Brailsford, Uttoxeter, and Leek to explore what’s possible.
Our team now includes five shop staff across the two showrooms, and five dedicated installation teams. Together, we deliver a service that’s built on experience, refined by feedback, and guided by a simple belief: every bathroom should be better than the one before.
